Board Officers and New Board Member Elected at CASA Berks Annual Meeting

CASA of Berks County held its annual meeting on May 8, 2023 where its new officers were elected for FY 24. The officers elected were Nikolas Capitano, Board President for a second term; Kathleen Felker, Immediate Past President; Tim Gruesel, Vice President for his first term; Janell Harakel, Treasurer for her second term; and Todd Ziegler, Secretary for his second term.

Nik Capitano captured the moment when he said, “ I am beyond thrilled and honored to have been re-elected as this years’ Board President of CASA of Berks County. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my fellow board members for their unwavering dedication and incredible work they have accomplished over the past year in advancing the mission of CASA.”

Janell Harakel, also renewing her officer’s position said, “CASA of Berks provides foster children the support they need to overcome obstacles and flourish. I am thankful for our compassionate team of volunteers and our generous donors, who continue to advocate for these children. Board participation is an important way to be another voice advocating for children and families who aren’t typically heard.”

In addition to electing officers at the Annual Meeting, the Board also elected new board member, Nicholas Hill. Nick comes to CASA Berks with nine years of increasing responsibility at Bethany Children’s Home. He is currently the Chief Programming Officer at Bethany Children’s Home and over the years has worked with our CASA advocates whose assigned child resides at Bethany. Nick looks forward to being on the CASA Board of Directors.
